Worship at Trinity Life Center
|
We are celebrating our first anniversary of our 11:11 worship
time at TLC - on 11/11/07 at 11:11. This is an incredible
thing. So much has happened at the Trinity Life Center in the
past 5 years that it is hard to imagine. We have created an
outdoor family recreation site for Southern Madison County, with
a great playground, the running/ walking track, the meditation
stations, a beautiful gazebo, the soccer leagues, and of course
the program building that is being used for events by the
community nearly every week.
TLC Children’s Place continues to be a source of pride. It continues to grow in number of students, in number of services offered, and in the quality of the program. TLC Children’s Place is self-supporting and in addition pays most of the bills of the entire TLC site. Since worship began at 11:11 a year ago. We have provided a new spiritual opportunity for Trinity members, and also for the residents of the area that are searching for something more contemporary or informal (or maybe later) than our traditional 9:30 worship service. We have attracted folks who are moving to the area, and some folks who have never before been church goers. It is a challenge to meet the needs of this diverse group. We have many people to thank for the success of this first year. Many folks have been very faithful in their support of this ministry. I want to especially thank Pam & Donnie Teeters, Ryan Scott, and Deb Osza for their worship leadership, Carol Hanna, Lynn & John Upton, Tim & Jeanine Logsdon, Tim & Amy Hans, and Nancy Likens for their help in welcoming persons to worship. John & Susan Lord and Barb Jackson for their help with childcare. Kurt Hettinga, Donnie Teeters, and Tim Hans for setting up for worship every Saturday. And of course Greg Lash for the weekly design work on the video presentations. None of what we have done would be possible without these persons. |
Click on a new beginning for more info. You are invited to worship with us at 11:11 a.m. on Sunday mornings at TLC.
Our worship experience is warm and welcoming, visitor friendly, informal, designed for persons of all ages to enjoy together. We expect to reach a lot of persons who have never been part of a church or who have not attended worship for many years. Our hope is that once persons begin to come and feel a part of TLC - they will want to learn more about Christ. Therefore, this winter we will begin small groups where they can learn about Christ and the Christian faith.
Of course we will continue our traditional worship at Trinity UMC (Seventh and Walnut in Lapel) at 9:30 a.m. We will be able to offer an option of worship styles and experiences. We hope that you will be able to serve at both sites as best fits your gifts and your needs.
We are planning to meet together with folks who will commit at least one Sunday a month serving at TLC in the following areas:
Greeters/Ushers: You would be greeting persons, and helping them find their way around TLC. You would be able to answer questions regarding programs at Trinity and at TLC.
Hospitality: You would be making/serving coffee/tea/ refreshments and generally helping persons feel welcome.
Worship Team: Initially Hanfield United Methodist Church from Marion, Indiana will be helping us lead worship and singing. They will be assisting us in worship leadership. We need persons who would like to lead worship, sing, or play an instrument. Pastor Dawn or I will be bringing the message each week.
Video/Audio Team: We need persons to volunteer to operate the audio and projection systems.
Small group leader: If you would like to help put small groups of newcomers together as they learn about Christ and what it means to be a Christian, let us know.
If you are interested in helping in any of these ways - for at least one Sunday a month, please contact the church office. We will meet together and give you any help and training required. If you have questions, please contact Pastor Dawn or Pastor Evan. We will begin meeting after Easter to put everything together.
