We received word from the United Methodist Mountain Mission that they will be sending a truck to Lapel either the week of April 28-29 or May 5-7. You may begin to bring you donated items and put them on the enclosed church porch on April 15. They are in real need of women’s summer clothes.. linens.. dishes ..... knickknacks.... good usable furniture.. other household items.. new underwear.. bleach...stain cleaner.. dryer sheets.. packaging tape. And, of course, they ALWAYS need all of the other wonderful good and usable items you donate to the Mission! Now is the time for you to make your plans and secure pledges to "Walk for Others" on Saturday, April 26 at 9:00a.m. Help those in need by walking at TLC. Trinity Church is committed to ministering to persons in Christ’s name throughout the world.
2008 Mission Projects
The Christian Center $350.00
Located in downtown Anderson, the Christian Center provides shelter, food, clothing, counseling, and other assistance to the poor.
In As Much $1,200.00
In As Much is a soup kitchen in Anderson. It serves free meals to the poor every day of the year.
Youth for Christ $200.00
These funds will be used to support the Youth for Christ ministry to the youth at the Madison County Youth Center.
Women’s Alternative $300.00
This is a ministry to women and children in Anderson providing support, counseling, and safety.
Lucille Raines Residence $1,200.00
This is an apartment building in downtown Indianapolis that provides a program, and housing to assist persons who are recovering from addictions get a fresh start in life.
S.T.V.I.M. $3,000.00
(Short term volunteers in mission.) This fund is available to assist our own Trinity Church persons who become involved on work team for the first time.
Local Emergency Fund $1,500.00
Along with our Community’s Ministerial Association offerings, these funds are available to help Lapel area residents with utilities and food as emergency needs arise.
Special Offerings $1,000.00
These funds are used to support the annual United Methodist Offerings.
U.M.C.O.R. - USA $1,000.00
The United Methodist Committee on Relief is the emergency arm of our church. It goes into disaster areas immediately and stays as long as there is a need.
Student Venture $1,000.00
These funds are to support our own Laurie Johnson in her ministry with high school students in Florida.
Red Bird Mission $800.00
This Appalachian Kentucky mission provides child care, work camp ministries, and provide for the needs of its area.

AFRICA
John & Kendra Enright and Ken & Debbie Vance represent us in outreach to Africa. They are working through a number of different projects including:
Kafakumba Development Projects
This ministry seeks to make a change for the better in southern Africa. These projects will create jobs, start businesses, teach a variety of skills, and most importantly, point people to the road that leads to developing the character necessary for successful living.
Kafakumba Training Center
Ndola, Zambia
This Center includes: retreat facilities, Kafakumba Pastor’s school, the Padmodzi Church, a woodworking shop, and banana farm to provide jobs income, and food for the center.
Ndola Town Center UMC
This is a project in downtown Ndola that provides a gathering place with a Christian environment for the young people in the area. Also a church has been established in this building. Since Enright’s move to Zambia a few years ago, the number of United Methodist congregations in the area has grown rapidly.

Operation Classroom $2,300.00
The North Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church is working with the churches of Liberia and Sierre Leone to build, staff, and operate secondary schools.
Marion District supports Koidu School.
U.M.C.O.R. - International $1,000.00
UMCOR - The United Methodist Committee on Relief is the emergency arm of the church. UMCOR responds immediately - wherever there is an emergency. UMCOR helps people reconstruct their homes, reclaim their land, and rebuild their communities.
HAITI
Grace Children’s Hospital $1,000.00
Children suffering from malnutrition, illnesses caused by poor sanitation, and especially tuberculosis can get help at Grace Children’s Hospital or one of its mobile clinics.
Cap A Well $1,000.00
This is a project to provide safe, clean water for communities in Haiti. $1000.00 will provide 4 wells which will provide water for 900 to 1200 persons.
Carolyn Veit $3,000.00
Carolyn is an independent missionary. She first traveled to Haiti with Rev. Joe Wagner while in high school. After graduation she became a registered nurse and returned to Haiti and worked at Grace Children’s Hospital for several years before starting her own clinic. She is very dedicated to her work and often donates her services to those who cannot pay. Her clinic, with the help of a doctor, treats all kinds of disease and performs surgery when necessary, charging only minimum fees. She is very grateful for Trinity’s support. We are her major supporter.
